Check out the Gloom & Doom network.. Once more CNN jumps on yellow press that claims the rise in gas prices is justified by an increase in crude oil prices… However, there isn’t an increase according to CBS News…

In fact, the price of crude oil has again dropped below $40/barrel. Come On!!!! Stop the lies, quit supporting cheating speculators… We don’t have jobs and life is bad enough without bad journalism pushing prices higher. Truth in advertizing is a must.

I don’t know whether those numbers are purposely skewed, or we in the Chicago area are just being hit much harder than the rest of the nation. Over the course of 2 weeks (stable for the past week), the price of unleaded went from $1.65 to $2.09 at most stations outside of the city. I know our prices are higher than most of the nation, but its strange we’ve seen a $0.40 price increase in the same timespan.
