Cuil Returns Chris Estes

November 20th, 2008 No comments

Finally Cuil (pronounced “Cool”) returns proper results for Chris Estes.  A few months back a Cuil, new search engine, launched that was much anticipated to rival Google.  It hasn’t necessarily lived up to the hype – But finally I happy to report that we are appearing on the front page for the keyword Chris Estes.

Cuil Search Results

I am not certain where Cuil got that picture but it is certainly not me.  Maybe one day they will have a webmaster toolkit similar to other search engines that allow to select the image that is displayed next to results.

I’m Voting Republican

June 12th, 2008 2 comments

Every now and again there is a video that describes me.

I found this video at I’m Voting Republican.
From their website

MORE ABOUT THE MOVIE
The movie was written and directed by Charlie Steak and produced by SyntheticHuman Pictures. Everyone worked on the film for free. Contributions from individuals paid for most of the expenses.

You can learn more about SyntheticHuman Pictures by clicking on their logo in the top navigation. You can send SyntheticHuman Pictures a gift of one dollar (we’d love to pay the actors and crew) here

[*Button does not work please visit their website to make a donation]

Your gift is not tax-deductible; we’re not a charity. The money will go towards promoting this movie, paying for bandwidth, and getting this message out to as many people as possible.

As the political season heats up expect more politics from me. Though I will probably be biased towards making a better America I will post some humor from all angles. If you notice the title of post as “I’m Voting Republican” that is part of the joke. I have not yet made my decision who I am going to vote for. The media and the parties haven’t figured out who is going to be running for president! I have and still don’t know who to vote for. As the political campaigns ramp-up and more campaign jobs open up and me looking for jobs I might be on the campaign trail myself.

Campaign Organizers and Job Recruiters

So for all the campaign job recruiters out there looking for talent. Check out my interactive portfolio. As an expert in social media and web technologies I can really help your candidate online. Remember in 2004 the lines used by the broadcast media networks after political debates, “Broadcasting Live from the Blog Cafe”? How about really leveraging that coverage for gain everyday? Social Media has grown exponentially since 2004 and reaches more and more everyday.

Until next time this is Chris Estes on This and That

Moving to New York

February 25th, 2008 No comments

Earlier tonight I made this announcement public with a mass e-mail…

As many of you know I have been in search of jobs all over the country. I found a fit on Wall Street in New York. Kind of hard to believe this small town southern guy would ever move to a city that has more people than his home state. I took a position as an analyst with a firm at the corner of Wall Street and Broadway. Four years ago I wouldn’t have ever thought I would live outside the south.

I am really excited about the opportunities the new firm offers. (I "ain’t" saying who or what until the press release comes out!) The rest of this week I am going to be packing up and looking for housing in New York. That is where you come in… If you have a friend/family/associate in New York drop them a note and say "Hey! I know a guy that is moving to NY and looking for an apartment. Do you know of any vacancies?"

Stay tuned to my seldomly updated blog for the announcement on my press release.http://www.chris-estes.com

Regards,

Chris Estes

When I moved to Washington, DC I only planned for a three month stay before I moved home. Well it has been two years and I’m going further north. Even though I am moving further north doesn’t make me miss Alabama any less.  Alabama is my home and always will be. I have been living quite the portable life since leaving, though I can’t move in two suitcases or my Honda anymore, I do plan to come home one day. Look at this way, at least when you come to New York you will have a tour guide and a floor to crash.
