Debate is over

The final Presidential Debate is over.  Who do you think is the winner?

Is there one?  What is your impression?

Twittering the Debate

Tonight is the Final Debate in the 2008 presidential debate series between Barack Obama and John McCain.  Tonight I will be Twittering the Debate and prepping post about the coming weeks.

I doubt there will be many fireworks in tonight’s debate.  Though it would be in John McCain’s interest to make something happen as this will be his last chance to kick start his final chance for election victory.  Stay up-to-date on my take on the debate with me on twitter, http://twitter.com/estesce.

The debate starts at 9PM ET / 6PM PT on just about every news network.  I like watching the CNN broadcast of the debate with the annoying Ohio Voters opinion line at the bottom.  I don’t believe the opinion line is accurate but it does show some insight into responses by the candidate.

So join me for the Presidential Debate and kickoff for the race to the end.

Trooper Gate was an Abuse of Power

An investigator in Alaska has reported that the “Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin abused her power as Alaska’s governor and violated state ethics law by trying to get her ex-brother-in-law fired from the state police, a state investigator’s report concluded Friday,” according to a CNN report.

It seems that Governor’s and their Trooper Gates…  Pres. Bill Clinton had his own Trooper Gate as a Former Governor.  The only difference is Bill Clinton allegedly used Arkansas State Troopers in his Alleged relationship with Paula Jones.  If karma and history have anything to do with scandal’s this is only the first of many scandals for the Republican Vice Presidential nominee.

The use of political power for personal gain or vengeance should not go unpunished.  Though Sarah Palin may not have violated Alaska law she did violate the trust of her position.  Sure it is only a report but the Starr Report was too.  If Sarah Palin has the best interest of her party and the country in mind she should bow out gracefully.  She would earn more respect and a second shot at a National Political life if she gracefully backed away.  If not John McCain should show his true Maverick side and fire her.  If not, this will mark the beginning of scandals to come.

Tony Franklin Fired

The Opelika Auburn News is reporting that Tony Franklin has been fired as Auburn’s Offensive Coordinator.

The now late Auburn Offensive Coordinator had a bad run of luck at Auburn.  In someways I am sorry to see him fail.  In other ways it is nice to see a change being made.  Had head football Coach Tommy Tuberville not axed him there may have been an uprising for his job.

Perhaps the change will bring about a winning season the rest of the season.  It looks like the Tigers will get back to the basics that made them the football powerhouse they are known for.  The question still remains who will take Franklin’s place.  Tuberville has vowed that he is “personally going to take a larger role with the offense the remainder of the season. We are going to work harder than ever to make sure we consistently improve as we move forward.”

Tuberville stated that he “After evaluating where we are at this point of the season offensively, I felt it was in the best interest of the Auburn football program to make this change”.

Horrid Campaign Video

Have you seen the horrid images of Sarah Palin’s work?  Gov Palin allows this type of thing to go on under her administration?

How can some promote or allow these types of atrocities to go on.  This video leaves me speechless.  You can see for yourself.

What do you think?  Do you support the hunting of wolves in Alaska by airplane and helicopter?
